(Halton, Warrington, Cheshire East and CWAC)

“I didn’t think there would be outcomes like there have been, I thought it was going to be a tick-box exercise but it really hasn’t, it’s been much more!”

The Serious Violence Duty was introduced in the Police Crime, Sentencing and Courts Act 2022 and puts a duty on specified authorities to build a public health approach to understanding the drivers and impacts of serious violence, with a focus on prevention and early intervention.

In response, Queensberry AP have been commissioned by the Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner to deliver intervention and offer support to young people at risk of involvement in serious violence or exploitation across Warrington, Halton, Cheshire East and CWAC.

The intervention aims to raise awareness and tackle key issues often associated with at risk individuals such as frequent absenteeism/exclusion from school, exposure to domestic abuse, substance misuse and mental health issues.

If you are a professional requiring support for a young person, please click on the relevant link for your locality below, where you will find information on the referral pathways and the Contextual Safeguarding Assessment Tool. For enquiries in the Halton locality please email us directly on info@queensberryap.com.
