Staff development and training

"Can’t express enough my love of the course, t’s a real eye opener for staff"

"It really hits home and reminds us all how abhorrent CSE is... such a raw and honest story"

Queensberry AP staff development and training sessions cover a range of topics including Contextual Safeguarding, Criminal Exploitation, Sexual Exploitation and Gang life. Our face-to-face training sessions are suitable for anyone working or volunteering with children, young people and their wider families, as well as those who may not work directly with them but need to have an awareness and understanding of children at risk of exploitation.

All sessions have been developed based upon extensive first-hand experience working directly with vulnerable children, young people and families; each course can be tailor-made to meet the requirements and needs of the group .

An integral part of Queensberry AP training, and something that sets us apart from other training providers, is the "lived experience" element. Our training sessions include hard-hitting, real life case studies, delivered first-hand by ex-offenders and ex-service users to ensure attendees develop an understanding based upon real experiences of the topics we cover.

Our training sessions are underpinned by restorative practices to help attendees reflect upon their practices and help develop their awareness of the importance of a contextual approach to safeguarding children and young people.
